Title: Dikir Barat an observation...by muslih uia Post by: Muslih Aling on November 09, 2008, 02:41:43 AM in the current time,we should recognize that other art such as gamelan and caklempong which acknowledge by us as not originated from our culture are moving forward,those such situation will never be stopped..how to palce our art and culture at least in the same level or better than the other culture...
from my observation,to give new life for our art is too risky for us,it may damge the pureness of our dikir barat..as the new generation of dikir barat members...i dont want to see my traditional music was already altered and no more pure dikir barat exist...wallaaa i wanna ask u...if we are invited to perform dikir barat show in front of non malaysian who cant speak or understand malay(or kelantanese language) at all..which language do we prefer?? we can perform dikir barat in the english language use..but we should remember that we are performing our traditional music to them..not their traditional music...if we visit their country..can we enjoy their culture in our language..of coz not...because they protecting their culture very2 well... maybe at first we may change the language,soon,do we have to change the instrument if we need to do so?? brake not eat...brek tok make dikir barat is a flexible art,can be perform in all languages not only kelate slang.we may feel unpleasant with a dikir barat song sang in english,becoz the rhytm,rima akhir is not same.klate slang is the easiest language to sing dikir becoz rima akhir dio tu mudoh...aloh la payoh la nok nulis pon sapa pelin abih tange wak naip.kok mn pon internationalizekan budayo dikir bia ore kato dikir ni buke klah debek.hok make woh epal pon reti dikir.meta ko budu ni makane ore klate,toksey bui doh ko ore johor nok tra...padahl kalu pok dio tra naik la taraf ekonomi tokey budu wak ekspot ko johor.supo dikir jugok.kalu dio nok tamboh priso skt2 nk wat rano nok bui keno selero ore dio...supo eksport budu ko singapore la.loni nya tamboh la sikit2 jadi budu spore...
